Aston Villa have been linked with a move for former Crystal Palace target Lucien Favre as their next manager.
And a number of Villa fans have been sharing their positive thoughts regarding the 64-year-old on social media.
Steven Gerrard appears to be the early frontrunner to replace Dean Smith at Villa Park and is keen to move to the Midlands, however, Favre is also a name that has recently been thrown in the mix.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager has been out of work for almost 12 months now and has five honours on his managerial CV.
Favre, who turned down the chance to join Palace in the summer, has managed in three different countries and also shares the same agency as Villa winger Bertrand Traore.
Villa fans react
@Total_Villa staked their claim on Twitter regarding Favre, labelling him as an option that ‘stands out’. This is what these Villa fans had to say in reply, with many also hoping to see the club firm up their interest in Favre.

“This guy out of all the names has the best CV for the Villa job. Saved Borussia Monchengladbach from relegation. Took Hertha Berlin & Nice from midtable to Europe. Managed Dortmund to 2 x 2nd placed finishes and also won Swiss league a couple of times”

“Hard to disagree that Favre is the stand out option, definitely an upgrade tactically, a safe pair of hands and someone who can progress us over multiple seasons with good recruitment rather than a quick fix”
