Swedish wonderkid Lucas Bergvall will swap Djurgarden for Tottenham in the summer in a reported €10 million (£9m/$11m) move.

Spurs announced an agreement between the two teams on Friday – the midfielder's 18th birthday. The youngster has agreed a deal until 2029 and will join the north London outfit on July 1. Bergvall, who has played 29 times for the Allsvenskan outfit, underwent a medical on Friday.

It perhaps shows the positive trajectory Tottenham are on that a rising star like Bergvall wanted to join them over European giants Barcelona. The Swedish international, who previously spent time training with Manchester United, was reportedly wanted by a host of top clubs but wanted to be part of the Ange Postecoglou project.

Bergvall began his career at IF Brommapojkarna and made his first-team debut at the age of 16. The midfielder, who has an older brother called Theo who also plays for the Swedish side, went onto play 13 times before moving to Djurgarden in December 2022
